Taylor Swift ‘1989’ Birthday – 5 Rumors About Album
Taylor Swift celebrated the one-year anniversary of her smash-hit album 1989 on Tuesday, and Gossip Cop is celebrating by looking back at five false rumors we busted about the record over the past year.
Last month, Gossip Cop debunked a false Star story alleging that Swift was cheating on Calvin Harris with one of her 1989 World Tour backup dancers. Our impeccable Swift source assured us that the tabloid’s story was simply “not true.”
In May, Gossip Cop corrected a wholly fabricated HollywoodLife story that claimed Swift was expanding her “Bad Blood” music video into a full-length movie and comic book series. We exclusively reported that the claim was false after a source close to Swift told Gossip Cop, “There is no truth to this rumor.”
This past December, Gossip Cop shot down a ridiculous National Enquirer story purporting that Swift had left secret romantic “codes” for ex-boyfriend Harry Styles throughout songs on 1989. Those supposed “codes” were never explained, but it was revealed to Gossip Cop that the rumor was “100 percent false.”
Gossip Cop exclusively debunked a November 2014 cover story by New Weekly magazine which claimed Swift and Styles were getting back together after the One Direction singer supposedly sent her 1,989 roses to congratulate her for 1989. Our impeccable Swift insider called the supposed rekindling “hilarious,” and assured Gossip Cop that “no roses” were sent, let alone 1,989.
And finally, Gossip Cop busted a Star story claiming Swift had fired several of her backup dancers in an effort to keep concert costs at a minimum. The tabloid alleged it was “part of Taylor’s plan to have her new album, 1989, and tour be her most profitable yet.” No dancers were fired, and no such devious plan was concocted. A source close to Swift told Gossip Cop exclusively that the report was simply “not true.”
Gossip Cop wishes Taylor Swift and 1989 a happy and rumor-free anniversary!
